This week Airport College International participated in the "Aviation Connect 2024", a dynamic event that brought together key players in the aviation industry, including ground handling companies, airlines, pharmaceutical service providers, and various stakeholders. The ULD Training Concept
One of the highlights of the summit was a presentation by Mr. Pertti Mero, the CEO of Airport College International, titled "ULD - a Knowledge Industry." He introduced the ULD (Unit Load Device) training concept, featuring ULD eLearning, ULD Virtual Reality (VR) Training and ULD60Seconds Videos with two new videos featuring ULD Airside Check and Aircraft Hold Awareness.
The presentation also featured an example of new videos and video message from Airbus Industries by Jürgen Neumann highlighting the importance of proper ULD Handling.
The ULD Challenge 2025
Airport College and ULD Care initiative ”The ULD Challenge 2025” were announced during the presentation. This project invites airlines, ground handlers, and forwarders to participate in a year-long effort to reduce ULD damages.
The project involves analysis of the reasons behind damages and incidents, training with the new ULD training concept, and outcome analysis. The results and recommendations will be presented in 2025 conference.

Mr. Mero participated a panel discussions that revolved around aadvancing airfreight sustainability & accountability - Integrating ULD CARE Initiatives. Panelists shared their valuable insights and recommendations, making it an interesting session for the audience.
