Hactl's renowned International Forklift and Pallet Building Competition was once again held at the company's SuperTeminal 1 facility at Hong Kong International Airport. Now in its 14th year, the competition is a key element of Hactl's ongoing workplace safety programme.
This year's competition attracted international teams from around the world: Air Canada, Finnair, Cargolux, China Southern Airlines, Emirates SkyCargo, IAG Cargo, Japan Airlines, Nippon Cargo Airlines, SF Airlines, Qatar Airways, and host Hactl.

The competing teams were judged on their ability to maneuver a loaded forklift truck through a complicated, simulated warehouse course, delivering cargo to team members who then had to load as many items as possible, in compliance with ICAO and IATA international standards relating to dangerous goods, heavy cargo and overall build integrity. All tasks were performed against the clock.
China Southern Airlines won the Overall champion, while Japan Airlines won the Forklift competition and Forklift driving safety award, and China Southern Airlines took first place in the Pallet building competition.
It is important to note that the Air Canada team was all women, in what is usually such a male-dominated profession.
