This week the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) released a summary of the updated assessment of Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders study. The report highlighted the importance of the global air transport industry and its economic and social impact. These figures are astonishing and clearly indicate that global commercial aviation grows rapidly. Here are some key facts from the study:
In 2014, the air transport industry supported over 62 million jobs globally, contributing $2.7 trillion to the global economy and these figures are expected to increase up to 99 million jobs and $6 trillion in GDP.
Every day 9.8 million passenger travel by air, airlines operate 104.000 flights and $18.6 billion worth of goods is carried by air cargo.
