Transporting animals, especially for long journeys, air transportation is often the only option. In order to treat animals humanely and meet handling standards, all personnel involved in the transport of live animals need to be trained to fulfil their responsibilities.
This personnel include, to name a few, ground-handling staff (passenger, ramp and cargo handling), pilots, air crew, animal attendants and forwarding agents.
