Pertti Mero, CEO, Sales & Marketing
Pertti Mero was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Airport College International (AC) in October 2012. He is also the chairman of the company’s board of directors. Pertti is also responsible of Global Sales and Marketing for building relationships with key customers and partners. Prior to this appointment, Pertti served as the Vice President, global sales and marketing of Finnair Cargo.
Pertti’s career began in 1980’s when he joined Finnair, and since then he has had numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Finland and abroad. During 2000-2007 Pertti worked as Management Consultant at Eera Finland.
Pertti Mero brings senior leadership and international management experience to AC organisation.
Teemu Patala, Principal - AirportCollege Online Academy
Teemu is responsible for the development and coordination of certification programs, academic partnerships and development of e-learning concepts and methodology for AC course service offering. He has worked in aviation training and development since the late 1990s, as a Certified Trainer in Ground Operations and as a developer of e-learning concepts. He also holds a Vocational Teacher Certification.
Teemu has been involved in hundreds of e-learning development initiatives, which include e-programs in aviation safety & security, corporate security, airport processes, management & leadership, sales and customer service.
Jan Käppi, Head of Regulatory Compliance & Quality
Jan is the expert and leader of AC’s DGR and AVSEC content Team. He started his career in the aviation industry in the 90s and has been working in Dangerous goods and AVSEC in various positions such as instructor for IATA ITDI, instructor for Securitas, training manager for Finsecpro and civil servant for European Institutes.
His expertise has been utilised for training and lecturing in Scandinavia and Europe, and from North America to Asia. Jan is a pioneer and expert in developing high-class training material for aviation industry.
Kristian Marttinen, Head of Course Production
Kristian is the heart of AC’s Course Production Unit, leading a highly skilled and diverse team of multimedia designers, e-learning concept designers and scriptwriters. Kristian has been working in aviation training since the late 80s holding positions in training material design, e-learning course production and project management. Kristian is leading his team with passion to create engaging learning experiences for the needs of aviation industry.
Ari Ketola, Head of User Experience & Technology
Ari is the technical expert and leader of AC’s User Experience & Support Team. He started his career in the aviation industry in the 90s as a trainer and training coordinator for Finnair Training and Development Services. Soon after he focused on the technology aspects of e-learning and quality systems and management. Today, Ari is a pioneer and expert in highly developed e-learning technologies and standards, including SCORM and AICC.
